Sycomore Europe Eco Solutions fund recognized as "Best Environmental Thematic Fund" by MainStreet Partners
In Short
Milan – Sycomore Asset Management, a pioneer in Europe in SRI investments and part of the Generali Investments ecosystem, is once again on the podium at the MainStreet Partners "ESG Champions" awards. Sycomore Europe Eco Solutions has been recognized as the "Best Environmental Thematic Fund”, thanks to the distinctive approach of the management team and the metric NEC (Net Environmental Contribution), founded by Sycomore and aimed at quantifying the net environmental contribution of companies.
Through the “ESG Champions” awards, MainStreet Partners - one of the major specialists in ESG Advisory and Portfolio Analytics - each year selects the “champions” of sustainability by analyzing over 4,200 strategies, managed by around 160 international asset managers. The analysis takes place through a rating methodology that incorporates 80 different indicators collected in 3 pillars: overall assessment of the management company, strategy of the individual funds and investment portfolio.
Within the 14 categories of winners, Sycomore Europe Eco Solutions has established itself as the best thematic sector focused on environmental issues. The fund, which for over 5 years has focused on the solid trend of the energy and environmental transition, integrates particularly advanced KPIs and, through the NEC, takes into consideration many diversified sectors linked to the green transition: not limited to the perspective of climate change, but also environmental issues such as air quality, resource management, mobility and transport as well as biodiversity.
Gabriele Alberici, Head of Sales Italy di Generali Investments Partners, commented: “This award confirms not only Sycomore AM's expertise at the forefront in applying ESG criteria and offering ESG-compliant investment solutions, but also Generali Investments' constant commitment to investment solutions with a strong sustainability footprint and focused on investment themes that reflect solid megatrends, which will benefit from massive investments and initiatives in the coming years”.
